Video games typically present us with the possibility to attach and share a ardour with different individuals throughout the globe.

From the likes MMORPGs to FPS, games deliver individuals over a shared love and a ardour… or, no less than they need to.

Following its launch in 2013 Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us has develop into some of the beloved Playstation games.

The story of Ellie and Joel, and their journey by means of the post-apocalyptic USA (inhabited by marauding bands of thugs and mutated cannibal creatures) has continued to win over followers so it’s no shock that its developer Naughty Dog is now engaged on a second.

As a part of its intention to have interaction with its legion of followers the developer asks followers to share their cosplays with its social account, to allow them to champion their superior creations.

However, when one fan, Bleu, determined to share her tackle Ellie, her work was greeted with a torrent of abuse.

Why? Because as an Asian girl she’d dared to decorate up as a fictional Caucasian teenager.

Yeah, we’re being severe. This has occurred, and the abusive feedback left on her image (shared over quite a few Naughty Dogs social platforms) is sickening.

From pleading with the dev to delete the publish as a result of Bleu’s loving tribute to the Game ‘fucked’ with their ‘remembrance’ of the character to likening her to Andy Serkis’ LOTR character Smeagol (although the person used an attention-grabbing various to that spelling), the abusive remark spilled out onto Naughty Dogs social media platform.

We’ve included some examples of the feedback right here…

Obviously, not everybody shared the identical opinions and lots of followers and followers of the dev jumped in to defend and applaud Bleu for her cosplay.

But slaying trolls isn’t a simple activity – and abusive feedback have continued to roll in (alongside optimistic ones) ever for the reason that photograph was posted three days in the past.

However, one cosplay fan made a superb level when it requested why Naughty Dog was but to handle the problem.

Ibelinn Cosplay took some display pictures of a number of the abuse and addressed the dev instantly, writing: ‘I’m nonetheless saddened that @Naughty_Dog has but to even bat a watch on the abuse their cosplayer acquired.

‘You’re allowed to say you don’t stand by abusive and racist behaviour. Game builders, in the event you share a cosplayer, please stand by them and defend them from shit like this.’

We couldn’t agree extra.

Obviously trolling and abusive behaviour usually are not restricted to only Naughty Dog’s fanbase. There have been many incidents of horrific abuse famous throughout many platforms and games.

At one time Call Of Duty was recognized for having some of the poisonous instances of trolling in its multiplayer mode.

Likewise there have been many allegations made that the broader gaming group has a protracted solution to go on the subject of addressing the poisonous and darkish aspect that has grown alongside gaming.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Naughty Dog for remark.
